It’s story time!

16th March 2009

AMT in Lion Yard will be welcoming storyteller Marion Leeper on Wednesday 18th March.

As a taster to the Storytelling Festival weekend on 8th to 10th May which aims to give a platform to storytellers in the local area, encourage new talent, spread knowledge and understanding of storytelling and provide a storytelling service to the wider community, Marion will be delivering up a starter of some mouth watering food stories for all to enjoy.

Marion Leeper grew up in a family of actors, raconteurs, tellers of tall tales and downright liars. She has been listening to and telling stories (true and less true) for longer than she can remember. She has worked with young children for many years as a teacher and storyteller, and for adults she has frequently performed with Cambridge Storytellers. She has told stories in schools, libraries, museums, tents, buses, garden centres and shopping centres around Cambridgeshire and beyond.

Lion Yard would like to invite the fabulous families of Cambridge to come and enjoy some literary treats and get a taste for storytelling.

Magpas will also be at Lion Yard during the evening.  Magpas is the emergency medical charity for Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Peterborough.  Their fantastic fundraisers will be collecting from 5pm until late.

Laurie Cripps, Centre Manager at Lion Yard commented: “This is a fabulous way for families to unwind, relax and enjoy a story from a magical storyteller.”

Marion Leeper will be telling tales at AMT, Lion Yard between 5pm and 6pm on Wednesday 18th March.
