On your bike!

16th March 2009

Colin Arber, Manager of O2 in Lion Yard Shopping Centre will be pulling out all the stops for Comic Relief on Friday 3rd April and cycling 54 miles in a total of two circuits around Rutland Water, near Leicester.

As part of the ‘O2 Peddlers’ team, Colin is hoping to raise at least £125 towards their £500 target for the charity.

Colin commented: “It’s going to be a long day but I have done similar events before so hopefully I won’t have any problem completing the challenge.  It is always a very rewarding experience to be doing something active especially when you are able to raise money for a good cause.”

Comic Relief was launched on Christmas Day 1985 with the first Red Nose Day Event in 1988 raising £15 million for the charity.  Since then a staggering £240 million has been raised to fund projects across the UK, Africa and throughout some of the world´s poorest countries changing lives and helping people in desperate need.

Notes to Editors and Photographers: Photographers are invited to capture Colin in his cycling gear on Monday 16th March at 10am at O2, Lion Yard Shopping Centre.  Please register your interest with Harriette Conroy.
