‘Street Fight’ for charity!
19th February 2009
HMV at Lion Yard Shopping Centre will be holding a ‘Street Fighter 4 Charity Tournament’ to launch the new ‘Street Fighter 4’ game being released in store on Friday 20th February.
Entry to the tournament will cost £1 with all proceeds going to charity, CLIC Sargent.
Every day 10 families are told their child has cancer. As the UK´s leading children´s cancer charity, CLIC Sargent is the only organisation to offer them all round care and support: during treatment, in hospital and at home, and after treatment.
Everybody is welcome to take part, with players going head to head on the store’s PS3 console in a ‘winner stays on’ format. The winner of the tournament will receive a giant cookie, compliments of Millie’s Cookies, and a copy of the new ‘Street Fighter 4’ game.
Dave Gardiner, Assistant Manager at HMV, Lion Yard commented: “We want as many people as possible to join in so we can raise much needed funds for a very worthy cause. We are looking forward to some competitive fun.”
For those who are not lucky enough to win a copy of the new game, ‘Street Fighter 4’ will be available in store on the day for both the PS3 and Xbox 360 priced at £34.99.
The charity tournament will run from 12pm to 3pm on Friday 20th February.
