Lion Yard proudly collaborates with the Cambridge Legion during Remembrance, offering them two weeks of complimentary space to sell poppies. In addition, we showcase WW1 & WW2 artifacts, generously provided by the local army regiment, to both the public and local schools.
Distinguishing itself as one of the few shopping centers in the country to host an onsite Remembrance service, Lion Yard partners with the Cambridge Salvation Army Band for this solemn occasion. Each year, the event draws over 300 attendees, fostering a sense of community and collective remembrance.
In 2022, Lion Yard demonstrated its commitment to the cause by raising an impressive £36,000 for the Poppy Appeal, further exemplifying our dedication to honoring the sacrifices made during wartime.
